Rodchenko influenced upper cover design. Used; Very Good An an account of his journey around America by Alexei Ivanovich Adzhubei (Samarkand, 1924 - Moscow 1993). Nicknamed 'the King of the Soviet Press' in the 1960s, Adzhubei was Khrushchev's son-in-law. After Nikita Khrushchev's sensational exposure of Stalin's crimes and the millions of victims in the gulag, Adzhubei became 'journalist number one' and moved in 1959 as editor to Izvestia. He transformed the paper from a 'dull rag' into a lively, intellectually stimulating publication. Serebryanaya koshka was published some 3 years before his epic 700pp work 'Face to Face with America'. Paperback.

Moscow, Moskovskii rabochii, 1963. Landscape quarto album, colour kodachrome-style photographic reproductions throughout. Not paginated. Captions in Russian and English. Generally good but a few signs of damp marking to boards. Tight and no loss or tears. Photographs by Dmitri Baltermants photojournalist (??????? ?????????? ??????????? 1912-1990) and others. He was an official Kremlin photographer, worked for the daily Izvestia and was picture editor of the popular magazine Ogonyok. During World War II, Baltermants covered the battle of Stalingrad, and the battles of the Red Army in Russia and Ukraine.
